For the last 100 or so years, well over 3 kilometres of prime north facing beachfront lying virtually next door to the Geelong CBD has been closed to the public.

The Nelson Cove project will change all of that. Progressively, the beachfront will be cleaned up, landscaped and then opened up as public spaces. With sandy shores, grassed linear open spaces, bicycle and pedestrian paths, picnic areas and even “netted” safe swimming lagoons, these areas are destined to become one of the most popular future recreational destinations in the entire Geelong region.
